The German CCF Adventures

(Click on the picture to see a larger image)

In the late 1950s some very successful CCF visits were made to Army barracks in Germany, notably Osnabruck and Minden. These were led by the infamous (and sadly, the late) Peter ('Perce') Pointer and Tony Routley. 'Mr' Pointer was at the time in overall charge of the Collyer's Combined Cadet Force (when not skillfully teaching Physics) and, at the time, normally sported his Army Captain's uniform. 'Mr' Routley (Woodwork) wore his RAF Flight Lieutenant's blue.

In the above photograph taken in one of the dormitories just before 'lights out', PP (foreground) and AR are seen showing off some of their booty, presumably from a local shopping expedition in 'civvies'.
